What We Do!
Our programs aims to raise awareness of HBCU, create pathways for students to access these institutions, and offer tangible opportunities to experience HBCUs firsthand.
1
HBCU 101 Workshops and Seminars
We partner with local schools, community organizations, and education forums to host seminars or workshops targeting NYC Schools that will provide information on the history, importance, legacy, value and impact of HBCUs. These events include presentations from HBCU alumni, current HBCU students, and college reps, as well as interactive discussions with NYC students, families.
2
HBCU Alumni Mentorship Program
We collaborate with local alumni chapters of HBCUs in NY to provide mentorship, career and educational guidance, and networking opportunities for NYC students. These alumni also serve as speakers at events and role models for current NY high school students considering HBCUs.
3
Citywide HBCU College Tour
We offer an annual citywide HBCU college tour, offering NYC high school students the opportunity to visit multiple HBCUs. The tour allows students to interact directly with faculty, students, and admissions teams, while gaining a deeper understanding of campus life and the academic offerings of each institution.
4
The Future Leaders Start at HBCUs Campaign
To engage a broader audience, we will activate a social media and local media campaign, leveraging partnerships with community organizations and influencers. The campaign will reach and engage students and their families, utilizing digital platforms and local media outlets to spread awareness about the benefits of attending HBCUs.
